What We Believe

Trail Christian Fellowship People

Trail Christian Fellowship shall be anon-denominational church. It shall seek to emphasize the spiritual unity of all true believers. It shall be the policy of this church to give preeminence to the preaching of the gospel, to studying the Word of God, and to exalting the Lord Jesus Christ. In order to identify the Church as conservative in theology and evangelical in spirit, we set forth this general statement of fundamental beliefs:

The Bible

We believe in the verbal and complete inspiration by God of the original writings of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, the only infallible rule of faith and practice.

God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and lived a righteous life pleasing to the Father, being fully God and fully man, true God and true man.

Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is God, at work in the world to execute all divine activity and especially to reveal Jesus Christ as Lord and glorify Him.

Humanity

We believe that humanity is created in the image of God and is loved by Him, but through sinful inheritance and choice, is alienated, separated from God and under His righteous judgment.

The Gospel

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a substitutionary and complete sacrifice, and that all who repent and believe in Him are justified wholly apart from human merit and works and are reconciled to the Father by His shed blood and resurrection.

Ascension into Heaven

We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and in His present life there, for us, as our High Priest, Advocate, and Lord of the creation.

Second Coming

We believe in the second, visible and personal coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to establish His physical and worldwide kingdom on the earth.

Bodily Resurrection

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all humans, the justified and the unjustified, the eternal blessedness of the justified as the saved, and the everlasting condemnation of the unjustified as the unsaved.

Second Birth

We believe that those who are born of the Holy Spirit will, by faith, receive the Lord Jesus Christ and thereby become children of God and members of the body of Christ.

Transformation

We believe that the Christian life is one of transformation, in which the Holy Spirit produces Christ's character in the believer's Life. Such life will be preeminently characterized by love, truth, and purity.

Marriage

We believe that as the Creator and Sovereign Lord of the universe, God has designed humanity (to be) biologically male and biologically female as a reflection of His image (Gen1:26-27). Further, we believe that marriage shall be a lifelong commitment between one biological male and one biological female in accordance with God’s Word and His creation.

Sanctity of Life

We believe that all human life is sacred because it is created by God. Therefore all human life, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death is of inestimable worth (Ps. 139). Therefore we as a church are to value, defend, and protect all human life.

Evangelism

We believe the Church is visibly expressed whenever members of the body of Christ are gathered together in his name.

Commission

We believe the church universally and Trail Christian Fellowship specifically are commissioned to evangelize the world by proclaiming Jesus Christ as Lord and living as His servants in the age.

This statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible, as the inspired and infallible Word of God, speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind. It is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of Trail Christian Fellowship’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our Lead Pastor in unity with the Board of Elders, serves as the final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and proper application.
