WOMEN’S MINISTRY

Years ago I heard someone tell the story of a little boy who got scared in the middle of the night. His sleepy mommy went into his room to comfort and pray with him. After loves and prayers his mommy said, “and remember, honey, Jesus is right here with you so you never have to be afraid.” The little guy looked up at his mommy and said in earnest,

“Okay mommy, you stay here and sleep with Jesus and I’ll go sleep with daddy!”

How cute is that? We laugh, but the truth is, we do need each other and we desperately need God. Daily we are faced with the challenges of living in this fallen world. The enemy of our souls is doing his best to ruin as many souls as possible, and my precious ones, this is not just for the moment, this is for all eternity.

We are created in the image of God. The beauty and the reality of that truth is almost incomprehensible. How He can take a life, mine for example, that was so full of self destruction on so many levels, and totally transform me. It is the truth and living proof that God is alive and well. He loved me and had me in His sights when I wanted nothing to do with the God of all creation. Wow, what in the world was I thinking?~~ like the world…immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, gratifications of the senses, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, factions, envying, drunkenness, and things like these. These are the things that the world calls self- empowerment. The reality was that I was as close to hell as I ever dared to be. Our loving God began to wake me from a sin-induced slumber and revealed to me the destruction of the path I was on.

I will never forget the day that my loving heavenly Father poured His Holy Spirit over my mind and heart as I began to cry out for the truth of eternity. The heat of hell receded and God began to make all things new. His transforming power gave me (and continues to give) the Spirit of Christ to live in this world. He empowered me with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

This is why we need each other. Hebrews 3:13 says, “Encourage one another day after day, lest anyone of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.” So together, as the women at Trail Christian Fellowship, come and let us continue to grow together in love, grace, and truth. We have many opportunities to learn, serve, and bottom line to think and love like our Lord Jesus Christ. My heart is to see every woman of TCF flourish as we experience and know our loving Savior.

I love because He first loved me, PTL!!!!!
